“A book is a gift
you can open
again and again.”
~Garrison Keillor
Books! I love books and more importantly I love my own books. I have
a sentimental attachment to many of my books …
a favorite novel, a well loved
cookbook, travel books.
I always recommend that you shop
at your local bookstore. Browsing bookstores
is a favorite past time of mine!
Thrift stores, Facebook Marketplace and eBay are
also an excellent resources for great books.
Books can be a great storyteller and I feel
strongly that every home should
tell a story.
Books add character to a home.
Cookbooks can share the many years you referenced that particular
book or recipe.
A great novel can remind you of the adventure within
its pages.
Travel books allow you to revisit some favorite
or future destinations.
Books also show your interests. I have a wonderful collection of books.
Coffee table books, cookbooks, travel books,
books on home décor, gardening,
books on interesting people,
fiction, nonfiction.
Just a delightful collection of books!
Oftentimes I use books in my decorating.
One or two books stacked
under an accessory or a lamp add dimension.
Books can be an accessory
displayed on a side table or coffee table.
I also think it’s a lovely idea to
place a book or two in
the guestroom.
Books add substance, books tell a story.
“A room without books is like
a body without a soul.” ~Cicero
My advice is this ~ While on a “Not so Snobby” adventure, look for interesting hardcover books!
If you are adding them to your home décor
look for books that speak to your interests ~
books that tell your story.
