Notable Neighbors
For quite some time, I have wanted to feature local neighbors.
Profiling neighbors that contribute to, and celebrate the community.
If you stop into The Marietta History Museum on
a “Pop - In” Saturday, you are likely to find children gathered
around a book reading corner, completely spellbound by a local children’s book author.
I was fortunate enough to meet Rosalind and Maggie Bunn
while volunteering at The Marietta History Museum.
Rosalind and Maggie are
Children’s Picture Book Authors
who happen to be a mother and daughter team.
How nice is that?
They have coauthored Once Upon A… Zoo, Beau’s Bayou Treasure
along with The All Aboard Series
which includes the wonderful states of
Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida and Alabama.
Their new holiday title ,
The Naughty List, illustrated by Keller Pyle is available now and is a wonderful book!
The mother daughter collaboration started by accident. Rosalind was reminiscing and looking through keepsakes and was reminded of Maggie’s creativity. She asked Maggie if she would enjoy working together on a story. Luckily, Maggie said yes and their collaboration began!
Rosalind and Maggie are long time residents of Metro Atlanta and are very active in the community.
As I mentioned before, I had the pleasure of meeting them while volunteering at the Marietta Museum of History.
What a dynamic duo! They were incredibly friendly and I look forward to “working”
with them again.
I bought All Aboard Georgia for a new born baby boy. You cannot
start reading to your children too early!
I feel strongly about the importance of books,
more importantly the positive impact that
books have on children. As a matter of fact, following the holidays
my goal is to create a Mommy and Kids reading club.
The logistics have not been worked out yet ~
watch this space…
One other thing I feel strongly about is
supporting our local talent.
I admire Rosalind and Maggie Bunn’s writing skills
as well as their successful
effort to bring books to children!
Send your favorite children’s book title, we
can add that to our reading club list!

I would love to hear from you!
Consider buying a book for a child this holiday season ~
In my opinion, you can’t give a better gift
One last thought ~ you can become a
Notable Neighbor by volunteering
at the Marietta History Museum.
We are in need of volunteers and would
enjoy getting to know you and would
appreciate the help!
“Pop - In” for a great day of Family Fun!
At the Marietta Museum of History.
I’ll look for you there!
