“Alpaca, Calaca, ooh I wanna take ya”
to an Alpaca Farm!
The other day a friend and I were at First Watch for lunch. I was telling her about
a client of mine who’s sister owns a 100 acre alpaca farm
in Kansas! She had been sending me fantastic photos!
My girlfriend said that there is an Alpaca Farm in Cobb County! Who knew?
We decided to schedule a visit to the
Lost Mountain Alpaca Ranch.
What a wonderful adventure! We scheduled a one hour tour,
which was just enough time, as it was chilly outside!
Keeping in mind that this is a working farm, we wore shoes and clothing
that we were comfortable with getting dirty. Watch your step!
There were approximately 30 visitors that day, several families with young children.
The farm is owned and operated by a great couple who conducted our tour. They shared with us
the history of the farm,
educated us on alpaca wool, behaviors and misinformation.
Did you know that alpacas don’t just randomly spit? They only spit if antagonized!
We were able to feed the alpacas, pet them and completely interact with them -
what an experience!
We were even kissed!
