We have a Snooty Looter on the loose, her name is Marcy, and her Snooty Loot is CLOCKS!

I’m pretty sure that Marcy has heard every joke you can imagine about clocks…so what more can I say?
Let’s chat about Marcy’s Timepiece Collection.

First, I have said for a very long time that
“All things Collected, are Collectible.”
In fact, I have a Pinterest Board bearing that name.

As a child, Marcy grew to love cuckoo clocks as her mom’s friend had one. She loved to see the little bird peek out, and tuck back in. Knowing that Marcy enjoyed the little clock, the woman would adjust the
time so the clock would cuckoo while Marcy was visiting!

Unfortunately, Marcy and her mom always seemed to visit during the early afternoon, around 1:00 - 1:30
so, the bird would only chirp once!

Marcy has certainly made up for that!!

This Snooty Looter currently has 11 working wall cuckoo clocks.
Two mantle cuckoo clocks, 2 grandfather clocks and four other wall clocks.
She’s gone cuckoo!

I asked if all of the collection keeps time, and the answer was yes!
Marcy keeps all of them running, but she’s unable to coordinate them to chime or cuckoo
at the same time.
The common joke in the family is, “It sounds like it’s AROUND 7:00!”
Marcy’s son has dubbed it “a cuckoo cacophony!”

It’s Tick-Tock not TikTok!

Every piece in this collection was purchased second hand, and each has a bit of a story.
One of her kids played the trumpet, hence the trumpeter clock.
The second clock pictured, was just pretty, Marcy liked the colors…
The third clock is called a Railroad clock. Her father, brother and husband worked for the railroad.
The last clock features a spinning lady. This piece of her collection reminds her of the good times had at her sister’s alpaca farm, watching her brother in-law spinning alpaca fiber into wool.

Wow! I love a Not so Snobby Hobbyist!

There is never judgement on any Snooty Loot, and I found this collection to be fascinating.
In fact, I’m imagining several stories based on this collection….
Maybe more on that another time!

I can’t begin to thank Marcy enough for sharing this story, as well as her Snooty Loot!

Marcy is a new friend and subscriber. I’m thrilled to welcome her to The Painted Artichoke community!

This collection and story have piqued my imagination
and certainly, has made me smile. Thank you, Marcy!

Again, it can be an unexpected collection of cuckoos that makes someone smile…
