Not So Snobby Hobby

Dictionary definition of the word "snob" with phonetic spelling, pronunciation options, and multiple definitions.

Call it what you want ~
Shopping Facebook Marketplace, Estate Sales, Yard Sales, Tag Sales
Garage Sales, Flea Markets, Antique Shops, Thrift Stores, eBay
is not an elite shopping experience!
There is no way to predict what you may find, if you have a little vision…
But that’s the entire purpose!

And you just may find “Snooty Loot!”

It’s more about what you may find Behind Door Number 4! Right?
It is the thrill of the hunt
and I find it to be great fun and a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.
However,
It’s not for the faint of heart…
You really must see beyond the clutter in the yard sale or thrift store,
or have something specific in mind
while scrolling through eBay.

I have been practicing this “Not so Snobby Hobby” for years!
Take a look at a couple of my finds

Bar cart with various bottles, glasses, a bowl of lemon and lime wedges, a blue pitcher, and decorative items.
null
Decorative ceramic plate painted with a landscape scene of cypress trees, a house with a red roof, and a yellow field on a blue sky background.
A blue package with a 2 out of 100 edition stamp, Spanish hand-painted by Bloomingdale's, and a white price sticker with bar code and details.

In the first image, the blue glass pitcher was picked up at a thrift store,
the vintage green pedestal dish is from eBay. I love that she’s a fish. I feel like she has sauciness!
The second item, a large decorative platter was also found at a thrift store. The platter has a Bloomingdales’ stamp, made in Italy, numbered, with the original price on the back.
I brought it home specifically for the colors!

If I were to offer advice, I would suggest you try the Not so Snobby Hobby. It may take a couple of adventures before you get the thrill

Please share some of photos of your “loot!” I cannot wait to see what treasures have been uncovered!

Sometimes it’s the smallest treasure that brings great pleasure…
