Stop and Drop

The “Stop and Drop” is one of my all time favorite things to do!
What is the “Stop and Drop” you ask?
My closest friends and I have been practicing this for almost a decade ~ it is absolutely a wonderful practice that should become a routine in any friendship.
I chose to “Stop and Drop” a friend this week. She hadn’t been feeling well and was feeling a bit down because she couldn’t go to class.
So…. I took a moment from my busy day and Stop and Dropped her!
Take a look!

Keeping it very simple and inexpensive, which is important ~ (this should never become a contest as to who can Stop and Drop the best ~ this is not a “Shop and Drop!”)
I stopped by the market and picked up a single bunch of flowers.
I already had the container, (something else to always keep on hand,)
I added water to the container, trimmed the flower stems adding them to the container,
and dropped them on her front porch.

The dropping is a very vital part of the Stop and Drop. You never announce the drop,
until it has been “dropped” and you have left the scene!
We never want to interrupt another person’s day or make them feel awkward in any way.

Interestingly enough ~ I wasn’t the only “Stop and Dropper” last week.
I was busily working one afternoon when a text popped up on my phone telling me to
check my front porch.
That was Carmen ~ an Ultimate Stop and Dropper!
Carmen makes the most beautiful handmade cards.
Check this out ~

We are busy people, and not everyone has the time or the inclination to drop off a handmade card, or baked goods.
The point of the Stop and Drop is making that surprise, special gesture that will make someone’s day.
The effort made to drive something by and drop it off is tremendous!
How thoughtful!

If your favorite people live out of town, drop a note in the mail.
Yes! Drop it in the US Mail! That small gesture makes such an impact!

Remember, the Stop and Drop has nothing to do with the cost of the gesture, it is simply the gesture.
Try it with a sticky note placed right on their front door! That will make someone feel special ~ and that is the point, isn’t it?
The “Stop and Drop” is the smallest and easiest way to give back to someone special.
The only cost to you is the effort!

It’s the smallest things that make a difference
Try one Stop and Drop this month! It will make your day
and someone else’s day!
